It is estimated that by 2050, there will be two billion more people living in China, India and the African continent. They will require greater amounts of these four pillars.

• Steel is made from coking coal and natural gas to reach the required temperatures to make it strong. Steel is the strongest when it comes to roads, bridges and public buildings. Developing nations will need more steel to build infrastructure. Reading this book got me thinking that to truly make an impact on a global scale, we need to do more. Nuclear and hydrogen have great potential but need more research to meet the criteria of abundant, affordable, reliable and secure energy sources.
