This multi-pronged approach aimed to disrupt criminal networks and deter future offences.A notable incident during Operation Shanela involved the apprehension of a suspect at an apartment in Pretoria-Moot. Responding to a complaint of intimidation, police discovered a safe containing three additional firearms, adding to the initial revolver found at the scene. The suspect was unable to provide a valid license or justification for possessing these weapons, leading to his arrest and charges of unlawful firearm possession. The confiscated firearms will undergo ballistic testing to determine their involvement in any prior criminal activities
