OpenAI has announced an update to its Advanced Voice Mode for ChatGPT that includes less interruptions and sounding more natural.
This is the tool which allows for real-time conversations with the generative AI chatbot. To get there, the usability of voice interactions for generative AI chatbots needs to get better, which is why OpenAI recently announced an update to its Advanced Voice Mode for ChatGPT in an effort to enhance the quality of real-time conversations.
According to OpenAI, the enhancement of Advanced Voice Mode will make the chatbot sound more natural, as well as being more personable. Added to this are fewer interruptions, which has been cited as an issue by users, as the chatbot often interrupted them while taking pauses when speaking or to catch their breath.
Whether this is enough for OpenAI to keep ahead of its competitors, most of whom are also focusing heavily on voice and agentic AI, is unclear for now, but it looks like the race to voice-powered AI agents is well and truly on.Editor of Hypertext.
