Since his MLB debut in 2014, Kyle Hendricks has been one of the most consistent and reliable pitchers in baseball.
Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks sits in the dugout during the sixth inning of a game between the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field on Sept. 21, 2023. He pitched six innings and gave up one earned run.
Some of Hendricks’ impressive career stats among active MLB pitchers includes a 3.47 ERA, which ranks 12th; an adjusted ERA+, which ranks 12th; a 1.153 WHIP, which ranks 11th; a 2.0 bases on balls per nine innings pitched, which ranks first; six complete games, which ranks 15th; and four shutouts, which rank 11th.What’s shocking is that among the top 15 qualified active pitchers in ERA, Hendricks is the only one that has yet to be named to an All-Star game.
