The mayor of Haldimand County says a regional Ontario Provincial Police officer has been shot and killed in the southeastern Ontario area.
Haldimand County OPP say in a video posted to Twitter that an officer was shot while responding to a vehicle in a ditch in the county at 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday.An emergency alert that has now been cancelled was issued at 5:45 p.m. advising all area residents to remain where they are as the suspect is believed to be armed.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.
