Federal Infrastructure Minister Dominic LeBlanc said the Trudeau government is aiming to release its funding allotments to the provinces in the fall

EDITOR’S NOTE: This article originally appeared on The Trillium, a new Village Media website devoted to covering provincial politics at Queen’s Park.

Kinga Surma and Caroline Mulroney, Ontario's ministers of infrastructure and transportation, both made the trip out west to meet with LeBlanc and their counterparts from other provinces and territories on Wednesday. The week before the meeting, Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson wrote Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on behalf of all of Canada's premiers asking the federal government to "maximize both flexibility and predictability" in future infrastructure funding.

After meeting with Ontario's infrastructure minister the week before, Ontario's Big City Mayors backed Surma with a prodding letter of its own toward LeBlanc.
