Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Clip Features a Father of the Bride Reference

Hulu has unveiled an Only Murders in the Building Season 3 clip from the next episode of the acclaimed comedy.

Season 3 clip from its upcoming ninth and penultimate episode titled “Thirty,” which will premiere this Tuesday, September 26.

Over three decades after starring together in 1991’s Father of the Bride, it looks like Martin Short and Steve Martin have found themselves in another wedding. The video features a clever reference from the classic comedy movie with Charles calling himself and Oliver, the fathers of bride since Selena Gomez’s Mabel is wearing a wedding gown. It’s unclear if Mabel will indeed get married, or if it’s part of their hunt for clues.

Only Murders in the Building centers around three strangers who share an obsession with “true crime” and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. The series stars Short, Gomez, Martin, and Michael Cyril Creighton. Season 3 introduces Paul Rudd as Broadway actor Ben Glenroy, Meryl Streep , and Ashley Park .

“Season 3 finds Charles, Oliver & Mabel investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show,” reads the logline. “Ben Glenroy is a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin, our trio embarks on their toughest case yet, all while director Oliver desperately attempts to put his show back together.”

The series hails from co-writers and co-creators Steve Martin and John Hoffman .
