A municipal official in the City of Polokwane claimed and received an overtime payment of R92 000 in just one month. This startling revelation is part of the ongoing process to cleanse the municipality of corruption.
City of Polokwane mayor Makoro Mpe confirmed that some of the report’s findings were that officials were awarded a tender for the purchase of buses for the public transport system.The DA said it had welcomed the terms of reference the council recently adopted to conduct an independent investigation into excessive overtime payments and ghost employees in the municipality.
