Netflix has re-edited their live-action One Piece trailer to remove a major filming mistake after it was spotted by eagle-eyed viewers.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The One Piece trailer has been edited by Netflix to correct a filming mistake after it was spotted by eagle-eyed viewers. A live-action adaptation of the ongoing manga by Eiichiro Oda, the upcoming Netflix series follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates and their captain Monkey D. Luffy as they sail the Grand Line in search of the titular treasure that will make him the next King of the Pirates.
Now, as pointed out by @OP_Netflix_Fan on Twitter, Netflix has edited the trailer for their live-action One Piece show to correct the mistake. Check out the before and after below: As explained by the post above, an extra could be seen wearing a smartwatch during the trailer's opening scene in which Gold Roger , the current king of the pirates, is executed. The re-edited One Piece trailer with the anachronistic prop removed can be found on Netflix's website.
The One Piece Trailer Promises A Faithful Adaptation HBO has become notorious for these types of blunders starting with Game of Thrones season 8's infamous coffee cup gaffe and continuing with a VFX error on House of the Dragon and crew members appearing on-screen in The Last of Us.
In spite of the smartwatch being spotted, the One Piece trailer promises a faithful adaptation of the iconic manga from Netflix. The trailer features multiple moments recreating scenes from the anime's first arc, the East Blue Saga, including Luffy giving Nami his hat and Zoro fighting Dracule Mihawk. However, whether One Piece can overcome Netflix's anime adaptation curse after Cowboy Bebop was canceled after one season, remains to be seen.
