The covers were taken off the C1000 in 1995 after 4 years of development and construction. It apparently cost $3.4 million and Lotec audaciously claimed that it could hit 268 mph . That is a remarkable figure for a car that launched three years before thewith its 240.1 mph top speed but as far as we can tell, the claimed top speed of the C1000 has never been verified. It will also apparently hit 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and 124 mph in 8 seconds.
