A boy's wish to revive his father in Dragon Ball introduced a whole slew of inconsistencies that either prove that the eternal dragon Shenron exaggerated his capabilities, didn't expect wishes to get as complicated as they later do, or was disempowered to an absurd degree.

The eternal dragon claimed that he couldn't revive Goku since he had already been revived by the Dragon Balls before.
