One new wildfire has been confirmed as of this afternoon, the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry said in a release today.
Sudbury 28, under control at 0.1 of a hectare, is located on the west side of Kukagami Lake Road, approximately 2 kilometres north of the highway 17 junction.The fire hazard is low to moderate in areas located north of Greater Sudbury in the Northeast Region. It is moderate to high in areas south and east of Greater Sudbury. A small portion of the region situated on the northeastern side of Algonquin Park is showing an extreme hazard this afternoon.
