UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, “The integrated food security phase classification and or IPCC’s latest report on food security in Sudan confirms that in North Darfur, in Zam Zam Camp, which shelters over 220 000 displaced people, has now crossed the famine threshold, according to the report, catastrophic hunger conditions are projected for the first time in the history of the IPC. A survey in Sudan and 14 areas have been declared at risk of famine in the coming months.
