Police were investigating and did not say what the motive may have been.
OAKLAND — One person died and another was wounded Wednesday after a shooting in the Fruitvale District, police said.
Officers responded to the to the 3400 block of International Boulevard about 11 a.m. and saw two victims down, according to a statement from Oakland police Officer Darryl Rodgers. Paramedics also responded and worked on both victims, police said. Both were taken by ambulance to a hospital, but one of them died there, police said. Authorities did not identify that person, pending the confirmation of identify and the contacting of next of kin.
