On Monday, the California legislator falsely claimed that former President Donald Trump had been convicted of sexual assault."Donald Trump has been convicted of sexual assault," Swalwell tweeted."And [House Speaker] Kevin McCarthy is all in with his sexually abusive pal."
Swalwell's false statement was so egregious that he was viciously mocked by social media accounts throughout the country. Sarah Arnold from Townhall chronicled much of the pushback against the representative of California's 14th Congressional District. Many ridiculed Swalwell for lying or being ignorant.
Consider some of Swallwell's other lies. In January, he tweeted that he was being removed from his congressional committees out of vengeance. He claimed Republicans had a vendetta against him, and that was the primary reason he was being removed. He even claimed some Republicans went on political shows and stated as much.
