Nature research paper: Omicron infection results in increased capacity of vaccinated people to neutralize Omicron and Delta, but a similar effect is not seen for unvaccinated people

, with or without previous vaccination, elicits protection against the previously dominant Delta variant is unclear. We measured SARS-CoV-2 variant neutralization capacity in 39 Omicron sub-lineage BA.1 infected individuals in South Africa starting at a median of 6 days post-symptoms onset and continuing until a last follow-up sample a median of 23 days post-symptoms to allow BA.1 elicited neutralizing immunity time to develop.
