The WBA have now revealed their back-up plan for if Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois does not happen next.to defend his unified WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world titles against the Brit.As he owns the lesser WBA 'regular' belt, Dubois currently occupies the mandatory position.
On Monday, it was confirmed that negotiations have failed and so the WBA have called purse bids scheduled for next Thursday, May 25.Dubois has been adamant that he does intend to take the fight with Usyk next, though many have doubted this due to the fact he suffered an ACL injury in his last fight against Kevin Lerena in December.
