More than 103,000 people of State Pension age receive Attendance Allowance support for a heart condition.
The latest figures published by the Department for Work and Pensions show that there are now nearly 1.5 million people over State Pension age receiving regular financial support for a health condition through Attendance Allowance, including 129,641 living in Scotland. The benefit is worth either £68.10 or £101.75 each week - £272.40 or £407.00 each pay period - and is designed to help older people with additional daily living expenses stay in their own home for longer.
