will open up its season on the road for the second time in the Ryan Day era, once again facing a Big Ten opponent.
The Buckeyes come into Week 1 with plenty of experience on both sides of the ball, but also having a few new people expected to have significant roles. That starts at quarterback where Kyle McCord will get the second start of his career and first against a Power Five opponent. But Devin Brown is also expected to play meaningful snaps as the quarterback battle continues into the season.
The new faces continue on the offensive line with San Diego State transfer Josh Simmons at left tackle, second-year Carson Hinzman at center and fourth-year Josh Fryar at right tackle. Meanwhile the defense looks ready to take that next step in the second year under Jim Knowles from going from just a good defense to a great one capable of being the backbone of a national championship-caliber team.
