At least two people are dead and nine others are missing following a building explosion at a chocolate factory in Reading, according to officials.

Firefighters responded to R.M. Palmer Company around 5 p.m. Friday for reports of an explosion and a multi-alarm fire.

Reading Police Chief Wayne Holben told reporters "large explosion" resulted in the destruction of building number two and caused significant damage to a neighboring building. Exclusive video from FOX 29's Reading weather camera captured the massive blast that sent debris flying high into the air.Holben said "several" people were injured in the blast and at least two people died. As of Thursday night, nine people are still unaccounted for.

A spokesperson from Tower Health said Reading Hospital received eight patients, including one who was transferred, two listed in fair condition, and five who have since been discharged.
