The Moroccan giants dropped points to AS FAR on Wednesday evening and have dropped to second spot in the Botola Pro 1 league, with their opponents moving top with six games to go.Despite qualifying the semi-finals of the Champions League, Wydad have now made the decision to part ways with head coach Juan Carlos Garrido and have appointed Sven Vandenbroeck as their new coach.
The former Villarreal tactician took to social media to thank the club and players for his time at the club."Thank you all. Public, players and club staff and president. It has been a magnificent period that I have been able to live with this great team," Garrido said on Instagram. "I respect the president's decision with pain since I will not be able to win the titles that are so close and for which I have put my part. good luck in the future."
Wydad will host Rulani Mokwena's Sundowns at the Stade Mohamed V next week Saturday, with the game scheduled to get underway at 21h00.
