The Buccaneers charged for watering their pitch at Orlando Stadium contrary to the regulation prior to kick-off of the DStv Premiership encounter.PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu confirmed Pirates pleaded guilty to the charge on Friday, 27 January.
"They pleaded guilty and were subsequently convicted and in the result, they were fined a monitory amount of R50 000, half of which is suspended for a period of 12 months on condition that during the suspension, they are not found guilty of the same offence," Majavu said via the PSL's media department.
The Buccaneers went on to claim a 3-1 victory on the day, which ended the club's three-game losing streak in the league. Jose Riveiro's charges resume league action on Saturday night with a trip to struggling Marumo Gallants.
