Alec Baldwin has surrendered his cellphone to authorities as part of the investigation into a fatal shooting on a New Mexico film set last fall, a law enforcement official said.
Baldwin was an actor and co-producer, and the search warrant for his phone sought text messages, images, videos, calls or any other information related to the movie.
Baldwin’s lawyer, Aaron Dyer, said his client had been cooperating with authorities throughout the course of the investigation, and the delay in providing information from the phone was no indication otherwise. A probe into the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Alec Baldwin’s movie “Rust” in New Mexico has found ammunition at the scene that investigators suspect to be “live rounds,” authorities have announced. Business Insider reporter Claire Atkinson explains why live rounds may be found on a movie set, and breaks down what questions remain to be answered about the deadly incident.
