OFFICIAL: African giants part ways with coach after AFL exit
One of Africa's biggest clubs has officially parted ways with their head coach following their exit from the African Football League.
Tanzanian side Simba SC and Roberto Oliveira Goncalves Do Carmo have reached an agreement to terminate their working relationship. "The Simba club has reached an agreement on both sides to terminate the contract with the head coach of the first team, Roberto Oliveira Goncalves Do Carmo ," an official club statement read.
"We have also reached an agreement to terminate the contract of midfielders coach Corneille Hategekimana. "The leadership of the Lions Club thanks these coaches for their contribution to our club and wishes them all the best in their new roles.It was further revealed that Daniel Cadena, who will be assisted by Seleman Matola, will manage the side in the interim.
Simba were booted from the AFL at the quarter-final stage after losing their tie against Al Ahly; with an aggregate scoreline of 3-3 across the two legs, the Egyptians giants advanced to the semi-finals via the away goals rule. Simba are currently third in the Tanzanian Premier League after winning six of their opening seven games of the season.
