An Elwood Police officer is shot and killed during a traffic stop Sunday morning.
A suspect is in custody after allegedly shooting and killing an officer during a traffic stop Sunday morning.
The suspect exited the Buick and fired multiple shots -- striking the officer at least one time before fleeing the scene, according to authorities. The officer, later identified as Noah Shahnavaz, 24, of Fishers, Indiana, was transported by ambulance to Ascension St. Vincent Mercy and later flown by helicopter to an Indianapolis area hospital and was later pronounced dead.
