Off-season warning from so-called PSL 'Bad Boy'
SOWETO, SOUTH AFRICA: 21 December 2005, Lovers Mohlala during the PSL match between Jomo Cosmos and Silver Stars at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto, South Africa.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Lovers Mohlala has warned Premier Soccer League players planning to use the off-season as a period to rest on their laurels, or a time to get up to no good, to rather keep their focus on their fitness levels. The domestic league’s congested fixture schedule that sees teams playing a match every three days means players have little time to tap into their social life as most of their time is spent in flights and at hotels, if not on the training ground or in the ice bath.
“Just because it’s off-season, it doesn’t mean you have to stop what you have been doing in terms of training. You need to wake up and keep your fitness intact. Once you do whatever you want to do, then it becomes a problem; in fact, it becomes a big challenge.to read and post comments. For 14 free days, you can have access to the best from Soccer Laduma, KickOff, Daily Sun, TrueLove and Drum.
