An organization representing the interests of Métis, Inuit and Indigenous Peoples living off-reserve is calling on Ottawa to be included in the planned National Council for Reconciliation created through Bill C-29, a piece of proposed legislation known as the National Council for Reconciliation Act.

“Reconciliation must start with inclusion,” says CAP National Chief Elmer St. Pierre. “There are five national Indigenous organizations, but for some reason the Liberal government is playing partisan politics excluding CAP and the voices of urban Indigenous peoples.”
