Police asked for the public’s help in finding a vehicle seen leaving the scene of last week’s fatal double shooting and vehicle collision in a West Oakland neighborhood.

In a statement Wednesday, police said the shooting happened a little after 7:15 p.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

When officers responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity, they found two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and a man riding a bicycle who had been struck by a vehicle. Oakland police shared this image Wednesday, August 31, 2022 of a distinctive Chevrolet four-door sedan seen leaving the scene of a double fatal shooting and fatal vehicle-bicycle collision last Friday in the 2800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Oakland, Calif.

It all started when the driver of a vehicle shot and killed a man, and acquaintances of the wounded man fired back, killing the motorist. His vehicle then crashed into a bicyclist, authorities said.
