A man died after he was stabbed and shot Sunday in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
Around 6:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a possible shooting after learning of a ShotSpotter activation near 63rd and Bancroft avenues in the city’s Havenscourt neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground, unconscious and suffering from stab and gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving measures provided by police officers and paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not available, pending next-of-kin notification by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s bureau.The killing is the third homicide investigated by Oakland police this year, following a
