New York City law enforcement officials are expressing outrage over a pair of videos in which men are seen to be dousing on-duty officers with buckets of water — and in one instance hitting an officer in the head — during the city's recent heat wave

New York police detectives want to know who doused city officers with buckets of water, brazen incidents circulated widely on social media videos and sparking outrage among law enforcement.

The department issued a release Tuesday evening asking for the public's help identifying three men wanted for questioning in connection with a pair of videos depicting on-duty officers being drenched with buckets of water and, in one, hit with an empty bucket.Videos of two different water-throwing incidents, which occurred during the city's recent heat wave, appear to be shot using mobile phones.

The men toss water on the arresting officers from buckets. At one point, a shirtless man behind the officers winds up and throws an empty red bucket.
