One of the state’s largest private ambulance companies is facing a potentially massive class action lawsuit for waiting months to tell over 318,000 of their clients that their personal information was stolen by hackers.
The hack occurred in late May, but the company did not detect it until July 14 — then waited until Sept. 9 to tell victims, according to the lawsuit.

Court Throws out Conviction of San Diego Crips, Bloods-Affiliated Gang War ‘Cheerleader'The California Supreme Court has thrown out the conspiracy-to-murder conviction of a gang member who used social media to applaud the killing of rivals. The state’s high court said in a ruling Thursday that “being a cheerleader” isn’t enough to show that Nicholas Hoskins conspired in the murders. The court overturned Hoskins’ sentence of 25 years to life and sent the case back to an appellate court that had upheld his conviction. The case stemmed from a gang war that was declared after a member of Hoskins’ gang was killed in 2011. That led to several shootings and deaths but the Supreme Court noted there wasn’t any evidence Hoskins took part in the violence.
