Amakhosi start the new campaign with a clash against Chippa United at their alternative home venue, Moses Mabhida Stadium, on Saturday, looking to make a promising start to give themselves hope that their drought and misery will end.Last season, Chiefs finished in fifth position, a place below than they did in the previous campaign and set an unwanted record of more than 10 defeats in a season, doing so for the first time in the PSL.
With 32 goals in 30 matches in the Premiership, Chiefs did not have a good season in front of goal last term. Only Sekhukhune United and Swallows scored less than Amakhosi in the top eight last season, showing just how much Chiefs were lacking in front of goal, despite going into the market to sign strikers Ashley du Preez, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyiman and Christian Saile Basomboli.
