NSFAS goes to court to cut ties with direct payment providers

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme filed papers in court to cancel the direct payment contracts awarded to four companies to pay allowances into students' bank accounts. Freeman Nomvalo, who was appointed NSFAS administrator in April, made the announcement during a media briefing in Pretoria on Monday.
He confirmed that a new payment allowance mechanism for the 26 universities and 50 Technical Vocational Education and Training colleges would be fully developed by September.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
