“We’ve had to start pretty much from scratch but we are doing this presentation with a view to laying the foundation for making it an annual tradition,” she said. Once Sharpe and Alcorn Martin committed to forge ahead, one of the first challenges was to find a school space to create a costume room. Grade 9 students were given the opportunity to audition at their feeder schools last spring so students from all grades are involved in the production.
