MANILA -- Pasig City mayor-elect Vico Sotto on Sunday called for unity amid issues in his city after the elections. "Tama na muna ang 'panahon ng pulitika.' Malinaw ang tinig ng taumbayan para sa pagbabago, at panahon na upang magkaisa tayo para sa ikauunlad ng ating lungsod," he said.
"Wag nating kalimutan na sa #July1 pa magsisimula ang bagong term; kaya patuloy nating igalang ang awtoridad ng kasalukuyang mayor. Suportahan pa rin ang mga programa ng lungsod, ngunit manatili tayong mapagbantay upang magkaroon tayo ng “smooth transition," Sotto said. "Tanungin natin ang mga sarili natin, 'Ano ba ang ipinaglalaban ko – ang ikabubuti ng lungsod o pansariling interes? Kanino ba dapat ako mas loyal – sa isang politiko o sa aking bayan?," he said.
