That was the reaction by Mamelodi hostel resident Frank Khumalo as government ramps up efforts to combat the spread of Covid-19.
MAY 14, 2020. The minister of human settlements, water and sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu, visits Mamelodi hostels to inspect the temporary residential units , structures being built to reduce the number of occupants in the hostel units. This is aimed at containing the spread of Covid-19.“Now I feel happy that I am even able to wear a mask. I used to use a cloth and wrap it around my face. I really appreciate what they have done.
Daniel Sello, chairperson of the hostel, accepted the donations and said they would assist in the fight against the pandemic.
