The Nova Scotia government is providing funding to the Nova Scotia College of Nursing to find ways to get internationally educated nurses licensed sooner. - ReutersHALIFAX, N.S. — Nova Scotia's nursing college is getting $340,000 from the province to find new ways to get internationally educated nurses licensed quicker.is part of a review of the registration and licensing process for internationally educated nurses.

That review will examine how to streamline the current licensing process to help eligible internationally educated nurses receive their licence sooner. The funding will also be used to hire new staff to support the review. The Department of Health said the nursing college has made several changes this year to make the licensing process easier.

We are pleased to receive funding from the provincial nursing strategy to support our work to continue to evaluate and change our registration & licensure processes to reduce the time it takes qualified internationally educated nurses to receive a licence.
