The Nova Scotia government will provide $13 million to create up to 3,200 paid internship opportunities for post-secondary students over the next four years. - ReutersHALIFAX, N.S. — The Nova Scotia government is partnering with Mitacs, a national not-for-profit research organization, to create more paid internships for post-secondary students in the province.
Mitacs works with universities and colleges across the country, including in Nova Scotia, to match post-secondary talent to businesses and other organizations. The province said the funding will be used to leverage further contributions from the federal government and participating organizations. The provincial government currently provides $1 million per year to fund up to 250 internships, and the federal government provides $1.5 million annually.
