Recent times have seen a number of pubs reduce trading hours due to fewer customers and rising costs. However, there's one pub in Nottinghamshire that seems to be bucking the trend.

The new hours have also led to the launch of a new lunchtime menu. The pub, designed in the style of a Victorian London ale house, opened nine months ago in the heart of West Bridgford, opposite Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.Since opening the pub has also gone from six days a week to seven. Originally it didn't trade on Mondays at all.

"When we first opened the venue, we took a considered approach to our operating hours to navigate the choppy waters facing our industry - we built the business around the sessions that lend themselves to our location and footfall, evenings/weekend and match days - but the reviews and feedback for the food and service coupled with the summer and the cricket season ahead has motivated us to change our path and we can’t wait to service that demand with our new opening hours and affordable...

"We’ve built a reputation for a very high quality Sunday roast - anyone who has tried it would naturally put the William Gunn on their shortlist of places to go in West Bridgford for a midweek lunch. Now we’ll be able to satisfy that demand."
