The fire was caused by a heat lamp falling onto clothing.

Emergency service crews from two units were called to a flat fire in a Nottinghamshire town. The incident took place on Tuesday, May 16 at approximately 2.30pm in Stapleford, with crews from Stapleford and Ilkeston both in attendance.

The fire, at the flats in Melbourne Road, was caused by a heat lamp falling onto clothing. Stapleford Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew of firefighters from both Stapleford Fire Station and Ilkeston Community Fire Station were mobilised to a report of a fire within a block of flats. "Upon arrival, two firefighters were committed into the building wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose reel jet to stop the blaze." Three people left the property before the service arrived and are not understood to have been injured.Emergency services also took the opportunity to remind members of the public to regularly test their smoke alarms.
