Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds docked points for breaching Premier League financial rules
The Reds have been docked four points for breaching the Premier League ’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules. The penalty imposed by an independent commission has plunged Nuno Espirito Santo’s side into the relegation zone with nine games remaining.
It comes as the creation of an independent regulator moved a step closer this week as the legislation to establish it was introduced to Parliament. The Football Governance Bill, which will establish the regulator in law, was introduced to Parliament on Tuesday. Their letter said: “We write to highlight our concerns regarding the Premier League Commission’s determination of sanctions, and perceived inconsistencies between smaller and larger clubs.
