Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Orel Mangala responds to a question over his fitness while on international duty with Belgium
The Reds midfielder was substituted in the closing stages of the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. He looked to be struggling with cramp during the 0-0 draw with the Eagles.
Mangala is now on international duty with Belgium and has made it clear he has not suffered an injury. Having trained with his Belgium teammates ahead of matches against Austria and Sweden, he said: “I am 100 percent fit."READ MORE: Forest given Jadon Sancho loan encouragement as Man Utd claim made "I left the field last weekend due to cramps. Not due to an injury," he added. Mangala’s insistence over his fitness will come as a relief to Forest fans, who saw Serge Aurier replaced at half-time against Palace having received treatment on an injury during the first half.
Aurier has since been called up by Ivory Coast which could be a positive sign over his fitness, but the Reds are still missing the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi, Nuno Tavares, Ola Aina, Danilo and Felipe. Mangala has been a key figure for Steve Cooper in Forest’s midfield, starting seven of the club’s opening eight matches in the Premier League so far this season.
