According to the union, Bernardo was transferred to medium-security La Macaza Institution near Mont Tremblant, Que., on Monday. Bernardo, 58, was convicted in 1995 of the murders of Tammy Holmolka, Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy. His wife, Karla Holmolka, assisted him with the murders.While at Millhaven, Bernardo has had two parole hearings, in 2018 and 2021, but was denied freedom both times.
