MotoGP: Jack Miller sits down with Jess Yates to go through the frustrations of 2024, and the constant speculation around his future.
Australian MotoGP rider Jack Miller remains confident “we’ll have a spot” on the 2025 grid despite being cast aside by the KTM factory team in place of star rookie Pedro Acosta for next season.
The 20-year-old is seen as the most exciting talent to enter the series since Marc Marquez in 2013, and scored podium results in two of his first three Grands Prix to sit sixth in the world championship standings with 90 points.By contrast, Miller, in the final year of a two-season deal with KTM after crossing from Ducati at the end of 2022, is mired in the worst slump of his career, crashing out of the past three Grands Prix to sit 15th in the standings with just 27 points.
“I’m not keen on signing any pieces of paper with the results I’ve had so far . Don’t get me wrong, there’s not a massive list of people lining up trying to give me one, but we’ll have a spot, I’m not too stressed. Miller struggled to a 12th-place result in Saturday’s Italian Grand Prix sprint, while Acosta finished on the podium. Miller’s options appear limited, with the most logical a step sideways to the GasGas seat that will be vacated by Acosta at the end of the season in a KTM-branded seat swap.“I firmly believe Tech3 isn’t a satellite team any more, it’s basically a factory bike that’s red,” he said.
