The yellow alert, for thunderstorms, is in place from midday on Sunday, June 11, to 9pm the same evening. It has been warned that flooding and lightening strikes could occur.
"Whilst many places will be largely dry, thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail are likely to develop in some places on Sunday afternoon," a Met Office spokesperson said."There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds," the alert added.
"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services. Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
