'I know that Philip definitely didn’t'
Northampton-born actor Matt Smith has revealed that the late Queen Elizabeth II watched the Netflix dramatisation of her life, The Crown, on a projector on a Sunday night. However, he said her husband, Prince Philip, "definitely didn't" join her.
During a recent interview, Smith, who currently appears in Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, was asked whether he knew if any members of the royal family watched The Crown. The Doctor Who actor revealed the late queen, who died last week aged 96, enjoyed watching an episode of a Sunday night.Speaking to the Today Show in the United States, Smith said: "I heard the Queen had watched it, and she used to watch it on a projector on a Sunday night apparently.
"A few courses into the meal. My friend couldn’t resist, by the end of the meal he was like, 'Philip, I have to ask, have you watched The Crown?' And apparently he turned round to him and went, 'Don’t be ridiculous'."
