Lizz Truss will today become the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after beating her rival, Rishi Sunak, in the Conservative leadership election. She and Boris Johnson will visit the Queen at Balmoral where Mr Johnson will resign and Mrs Truss will be asked to form a new government.
