Ex-Leeds United player Liam McCarron has left Championship rivals Stoke City after making one substitute appearance in two years
Northampton Town boss John Brady has spoken of his delight after signing former Leeds United winger Liam McCarron for an undisclosed fee from Stoke City. The 23-year-old joined the Potters from the Whites in the summer of 2022 but spent the first half of that season on loan at Port Vale.
McCarron had one year left on his City contract but was allowed out in pre-season to spend time on trial at Northampton. He impressed in friendlies against Norwich City and Peterborough Sports, earning a one-year deal with an optional further 12 months with the League One side.
"He has speed and the ability to break the back line in attack. Liam has a good pedigree, he has some big clubs on his CV but he is at the stage where he needs to start adding appearances to that CV.
