It has been labelled a 'quagmire' with many calling it dangerous
Residents and walkers in Northampton have declared their anger and frustration after Delapre Abbey has been turned into a "quagmire" following its Christmas lights trail. Many in the local area said they will now exercise and walk their dogs elsewhere.
Cllr Davenport's pictures show how entire walkways, which are used by runners, cyclists, dogwalkers and horses, completely ruined by caterpillar tracks and mudslides. Speaking to Northants Live, she said: "It's just such a mess. One park user claimed "2 children and 2 bikes got stuck in the mud here on New Year’s Day! I wasn’t impressed." Another said: "It’s awful utter devastation", to which someone replied, "no way am I going walking over there."
Many said they would no longer be using the park for exercise or leisure. "Words fail me! I am off to walk my dog through Beckets Park", was one person's statement.
