A man was killed late Monday in a shooting in the Acres Homes neighborhood in north Houston that some witnesses said began because of a fight over a woman, officials said. Officers around 11 p.m. responded to the 7900 block of De Priest Street, where they found a man with a gunshot wound, Ana Hernandez, a detective with the Houston Police Department, told On Scene reporters. The man, in his 40s, was taken to a hospital, where he died.Witnesses told investigators the shooting involved two men who knew each other; one man fled shortly after the shooting, Hernandez said.
